From a very young age I have always been fascinated with how ‘stuff’ works. I was what some call a part-time ‘tomboy’ and part time ‘girly-girl’. I spent a lot of time with my girlfriends making and dressing my dolls, playing house or doctor and often helping my mother and grandmother cook and clean.
I also enjoyed running around, riding my bike, and using my father’s tools to try and fix my bike or anything else that needed fixing. My hands-on experiences as a kid brought out my natural curiosity of how things work and helped me realize that I enjoyed making and fixing things.
In my adult life, I strive to find projects that allow me to create, whether seeing a box of wood and screws become a cabinet or a headboard, or drive a piece of software functionality successfully to production.
